• Payment information: card and billing details are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never store full card numbers on our servers.
• Usage information: the films you watch, your watchlist, watch progress, purchases, rentals and subscriptions.
• Technical information: device type, browser, IP address, and approximate location, collected automatically when you use the service.

2. How we use your information

• To provide and improve the Filmaver service, including personalising recommendations.
• To process payments, rentals, purchases and subscriptions, and calculate studio revenue shares.
• To send you service notifications, such as when a film on your watchlist becomes available.
• To operate the affiliate programme, including tracking referrals and payouts.
• To prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access to content.

3. Legal basis for processing

For users in the UK and EEA, we process your personal data under the GDPR on the basis of performance of a contract (providing the service), our legitimate interests (security and improvement), your consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), and legal obligations (tax and record-keeping).

4. Sharing your information

We share data only with service providers who help operate Filmaver, such as Stripe (payments), our secure streaming provider, and cloud hosting. These providers process data on our behalf and under contractual obligations. We may disclose information where required by law.

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted transit, hashed passwords and signed, time-limited streaming tokens to protect your data and content. No method is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Children

Filmaver is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where this happens, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to protect your data.
